Heirloom Tall Utah Celery Planting Instructions
- Plant in full sun or partial shade after the last spring frost.
- Tall Utah Celery prefers rich, wet soil that has been turned over to a depth of 8 inches. Ground should be level and free of rocks and weeds. Direct sow seeds 1/16 inch deep in rows spaced 18 inches apart.
- When seedlings have grown to 1 to 2 inches high, thin to 8 inches apart for best growth.
Heirloom Tall Utah Celery Harvesting Instructions
Celery will be ready to harvest within 70 to 125 days, before temperatures get too hot in the summer.
Harvest the stalks when they are at least 6 inches tall. They will grow up to 18Â to 24 inches in height.
Sever the stem right at the base where they are joined together.
Celery leaves can be picked at any time and should be cut with a sharp pair of garden shears.
