Herbs: Heirloom Arugula Roquette Planting Instructions

Arugula Roquette prefers full sun and can germinate quickly even in cold soil.

Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and 4 inches apart in rows 15 inches apart. You can start planting as soon as the ground can be worked. Firm soil lightly and water gently.

When seedlings are 3 inches tall, thin to 6 inches apart. Arugula Roquette grows well in containers if a fertile soil blend is used. Make new plantings every 2 to 3 weeks for a continuous harvest. Stop planting 3 to 4 weeks before the first frost in the fall.

Herbs: Heirloom Arugula Roquette Harvesting Instructions

Harvest your Arugula Roquette with ease using these simple guidelines:

  1. Harvest begins about 35 to 40 days post-planting.
  2. Begin by picking outer leaves at the plant base.
  3. Preserve center leaves for future harvesting sessions.

Maximize Your Harvest

  • Minimize heat and moisture stress to delay bolting.
  • Provide shade during warm seasons.

Additional Tips

  • Harvesting should stop once the plants flower; the leaves tend to turn bitter.
  • The flowers of Arugula Roquette are edible, too!
